SPS stands for Small Polyp Stony. SPS corals have relatively small polyps. Be careful, SPS corals can be quite challenging for an inexperienced hobbyist as they require high-quality water and relatively good lighting. SPS corals look more ‘stick-like’, but there are exceptions such as Montipora.
