Soft Coral
Soft corals do not have a hard skeleton, sometimes contain a protein skeleton, or scutes of calcium carbonate, or in the case of pipe organ coral, a whole colorful skeleton you can see as it grows! The best definition of a soft coral is to say it is within the order Alcyonacea, and then further divided by family, genus, and finally species. The best coral for beginners! Most soft corals grow very quickly with little fuss. They still need to be cared for all the same but require far less involvement than your typical hard coral. Soft corals are pretty hardy, enabling them to grow well, tolerate water fluctuations, and can adapt to different amount of lighting and water flow.
